Council members debate Uber, Lyft regulations
Metro Council members are grappling with how — or whether they should — regulate the new ride sharing services in Louisville including Uber and Lyft.
“My comment to my children was there is no way they can be operating here legally,” Councilman Kevin Kramer, R-11th District, said during a meeting of the council’s public safety committee. Kramer said he does not think ill of the operators, but “our ordinances are not written in any way consistent with what you’re doing.”
